After the last couple of years, we have all earned the presents from these healthy gift ideas. This year, instead of focusing on big ticket items, fashion, or electronics – all great, especially for the novelty – I paid attention to wellness themes. I went for items that would help my friends and family take care of themselves or feel good about taking care of the world. A bit of practicality and luxury combined.
Why Healthy Gift Ideas?
I’ve spent some time looking back over the last year or two. What I’ve realized is that what the people in my life (myself included) have found the most enjoyable isn’t the big, wild “I’m going to Disney World” type products in their lives. Instead, it’s the things that make a difference in their everyday lives. The really good coffee to start the day, for example. Or that indulgent skin care product that makes them feel soothed all over.
That’s why I’ve focused on healthy gift ideas this year instead of my traditional gifts. It’s stuff that will help my friends and family to be happy not only when the open the gift, but over time.
I came up with this idea with Christmas in mind, but honestly, it’ll work for any celebration, or even for no reason at all. These gifts are fantastic for birthdays, showers, hostess gifts, housewarming, or just because I want to surprise a loved one with something nice.
My Top 10 Healthy Gift Ideas This Year
Here’s my list of top 10 healthy gift ideas for my friends and family. I’m sure I’ll be adding to it for myself over time, but this is a great list to get you started with your own!
-
- 1 – A subscription to a meditation app like Headspace or Calm or the premium version of InsightTimer.
- 2 – A weighted blanket specific to their body and bed size.
- 3 – A truly high-quality and handmade bath product. I’m currently a fan of Noble Naturals’ Earth Goddess Bath Oil, which I discovered when I was ordering their Java Firming Eye Cream.
- 4 – An Audible subscription. I wouldn’t have recommended this as one of my healthy gift ideas last year, but they just opened up a world of free books and podcasts included in the subscription and there is a library of wellness and self-help in there that is very useful and getting bigger every day.
- 5 – An immune support supplement. This is my favorite stocking stuffer of the year because cold and flu season is definitely here! I chose IMMUNZ because of its clinically researched ingredients and because I subscribed to their newsletter and get coupon codes on occasion that saved me a lot of money.
- 6 – A beautiful natural paper journal. I give these with the thought in my mind that this will be used as a gratitude journal, but any kind of journaling is healthy.
- 7 – An adult coloring book. Try one and you’ll get it.
- 8 – The best towel in the world. In my opinion, it’s one of the luxury towels from Lualoha. They are light, dry fast, are gentle on skin, feel wonderful, and look like sarongs, so they’re wonderful for travelers who love the beach or stay in hostels.
- 9 – Reusable produce bags. These little washable mesh bags cut down on tons of unnecessary plastic at the grocery store. Get the super lightweight ones so it won’t add to the total weight at the checkout counter.
- 10 – A wake-up light. This year is the first time this has been added to my healthy gift ideas, but setting your light exposure from the start of the day and fading it out by the end is surprisingly helpful to great sleep.
